This presentation focuses on implementing the PFA/SBT process with children aged 1-6, and using the tools and strategies from the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) to write and teach developmentally appropriate goals. The team presents a case study to illustrate how these two practices can fit together to create a comprehensive treatment plan for young children with autism.

BCBAs will receive 1.0 General Learning CEU after passing the quiz that follows the presentation.

A Developmentally Appropriate approach to autism early intervention

Soar’s approach to autism therapy is based on the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). The ESDM focuses on teaching children in the ways that their brains are naturally wired to learn, through relationships, social interactions, and play. It is the leading, evidence-based therapy for young learners, aged 1 to 5.
